Eshowe Hills Eco & Golf Estate is situated on the majestic, rolling hills in Northern KwaZulu Natal, South-East of the town of Eshowe which was the historic capital of Queen Victoria Zululand. The port of Durban is 120 kilometres to the south with easy access on the N2 motorway. Durbans new international airport will be less than hour from your front door!

Situated at 500 metres above sea level, Eshowe is malaria-free and enjoys a cooler climate than the coastal region. One can enjoy varied activities at some of South Africas finest tourist attractions which are within easy reach of Eshowe Hills.

For those who want to see the beauty of South African fauna and flora, there are the game parks of Hluhluwe, Umfolozi, Mkuzi, Phinde and Itala. For those with an historic interest, one can visit Blood River, Rorkes Drift, Ulundi, Isandhlwana, Nyezane and Gingindlovu.

On the other hand if your preference is sun, sea and beautiful beaches, the coastal resorts of Cape Vidal and St. Lucia are 2 hours away, Salt Rock and Balitto are 1 hour away, and Mtunzini, Amatikulu and Zinkwasi are a short car ride away.

ECO ESTATE CONCEPT

Eshowe Hills was planned and developed with the object of enhancing and improving the natural environment. No natural forest areas were destroyed. In fact more than 3000 indigenous trees have been planted since the project commenced while alien species, such as gum trees, have been, or are in the process of being, eradicated. The result is that the rivers on the estate now flow continuously.

Bush buck, Blue Duikers and Wild Pigs can be seen at Eshowe Hills and other species of small game will be introduced once all work is completed. This will be done under the auspices of the Kwazulu Natal Wildlife Association who have been supportive and helpful.

GOLF

The Eshowe Country Club celebrated its Centenary last year and the golf course is possibly the oldest course in the country still playing on its original site. The layout was remodelled by the legendary Bob Grimsdell and no alterations are tolerated, thus the magic of a Grimsdell course is kept intact.

A boardwalk has been established on the 8th hole (162m par 3) and runs through the forest from tee to green at a height of 5 meters. This spectacular feature can take golf carts and is absolutely unique in South Africa.

Eshowe Hills has 6 all weather tennis courts available to residents. Two of these have been fitted with floodlighting for night tennis. Two squash courts are a popular amenity on the estate.

Lake Phobane (formerly Goedetrouw Dam) is famous for its bass fishing and fishing tournaments are a regular event. The lake is 10 kilometres from Eshowe Hills.

Be quick. Value like this in the golf estate property market does not come along too often!
