Mjejane Game Reserve is a 4,000 hectare private game reserve that not only overlooks but is also incorporated into the Kruger National Park. Mjejane Game Reserve enjoys the privilege of the Kruger Park animals as the fences have been removed and they have migrated onto the reserves’ pristine indigenous bush.

What makes Mjejane Game Reserve so desirable from an investment point of view is that it is the only private game reserve of its kind adjoining the southern boundary of the world famous Kruger National Park and at 4,000ha it represents the last significant tract of pristine indigenous bush alongside the Crocodile River it this highly sought after area.

During 2008 the fence separating Mjejane Game Reserve from the Kruger National Park was removed to allow wildlife to move freely between the wildlife sanctuaries on either side of the river. Almost immediately herds of elephant and buffalo moved onto Mjejane along with predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and wild dog. Species such as giraffe and zebra were re-introduced to the southern bank by South African National Parks and the conservation management of Mjejane was placed under the authority of SANParks.

In essence Mjejane Game Reserve is an eco-extension of the Kruger National Park and it boasts the same diversity of game encountered in the much acclaimed Biyamiti region of the Kruger. In 2011 construction was started on a low level bridge to link Mjejane into the Kruger road network. This is a first in the history of the Park and will provide limited direct access from Mjejane into the Kruger.

In view of the aforesaid, Kruger Park enthusiasts have been quick to realise that owning a bush lodge home in Mjejane is like owning one in the Kruger Park itself. Real estate sales have been strong, even through the recession, and numerous multimillion rand wholly owned and syndicated bush homes have been constructed in the reserve.
