The Kavango Zambezi TFCA offers investors a raft of natural tourist attractions including the Okavango Delta in Botswana and Victoria Falls, which borders Zimbabwe and Zambia, and is noted as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

In fact, the Kavango Zambezi TFCA borders Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and is situated in the Okavango and Zambezi River basins where the borders of these five countries converge.

Kavango Zambezi is home to a number of investment opportunities including two lodges that will be located in the Botswana boundary of the TFCA, the details of which are provided below.

TSOE LODGE

The development cost of the Tsoe Lodge is approximately US$2.39-million. The site for the proposed Tsoe Lodge is on the western, sandy sloping bank of the Boteti River, overlooking the dry river bed and the rocky eastern bank of the Boteti River. The topography of the site is quite unusual and is positioned to look east across the River to take advantage of the eastern bank and into Makgadikgadi Pans National Park (MPNP). It offers a magnificent view over the dry riverbed.

The design concept for the guest accommodation at the Tsoe Lodge is taken largely from the local design and materials used by the Boteti communities. Accessibility to the lodge is by tarred road Motopi-Rakops on an approximately 2km sandy track. The site is accessible to 4x4 vehicles only. The majority of tourists to the lodge are expected to fly in to Rakops airstrip (approximately 50km to the south).

NXAI PAN LODGE

The development cost of the Nxai Pan Lodge is approximately US$1.74-million

The proposed site for the Nxai Pan Lodge is located in Nxai Pan National Park, approximately 3.5km from the western edge of Nxai Pan and on what is suspected to be an old lake shoreline. The site would be unique in the area as there are no other developments in the immediate vicinity of the lodge site.

There is a game drive network to the east of the site at Nxai Pan and a Wildlife staff camp at the entrance to the park. The chosen site is on the crest of the ridge. The area consists of well drained soils and is dominated by dense thickets of 4 different species.

An airstrip is set to be located on the western side of the ridge behind the lodge. The lodge is designed as a luxury retreat, easily accessible to Nxai Pan, but secluded and self-sufficient. The lodge has a unique appearance, with its framed tent structures and rooftop sleeping platforms (two storey design), separating itself from any other development in the region.
